Health Delegate for Venezuela and Colombia

About the role

The German Red Cross is seeking a Health Delegate for Venezuela and Colombia to act as the Regional Health Focal Point for the Americas. Based in Caracas, the delegate will support health programming, primary health care, and community‑based interventions in close collaboration with the Venezuelan and Colombian Red Cross societies.

Key responsibilities

• Support National Red Cross Societies in health programmes, focusing on primary health care and community‑based interventions.
• Strengthen capacity through the design and facilitation of trainings for staff, volunteers, and project teams.
• Establish and maintain links with thematic advisors at GRC headquarters and regional teams.
• Contribute to methodological development, technical approaches, and learning processes across the region.
• Travel frequently to Colombia and other countries as required.

Required profile

• Relevant background in health, public health, or related fields.
• Experience in primary health care and community health projects.
• Proven ability to design and deliver training programmes.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
