Head of Mission – Emergency Response in Venezuela

About the role

IsraAID is seeking a senior leader to head its emergency mission in Venezuela following recent earthquakes. The Head of Mission will steer the overall response, ensuring rapid, needs‑driven assistance reaches affected communities while coordinating closely with local authorities and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the mission strategy in line with humanitarian standards and IsraAID’s principles.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government bodies, humanitarian clusters, NGOs and community groups.
• Oversee rapid needs assessments and design short‑term operational plans covering protection, WASH, MHPSS and community‑based recovery.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary field team, ensuring staff safety, wellbeing and effective performance.
• Monitor evolving conditions, adapt plans as needed, and provide timely reports to HQ, donors and coordination mechanisms.
• Identify funding opportunities, contribute to rapid proposals and support resource mobilization.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or emergency response operations.
• Strong knowledge of national response frameworks, humanitarian coordination mechanisms and protection standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work under high pressure, make decisions quickly and manage diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
