About the role

DHL Express Venezuela is seeking a Customs and Gateway Manager to lead its customs operations across the country. You will ensure full regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and high‑quality service while supporting the company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee customs and gateway operations, guaranteeing compliance with Venezuelan customs law, DHL policies and global standards.
• Manage import, export, transit and special customs regimes efficiently.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects to reduce risk, avoid penalties and boost performance.
• Own operational and service KPIs, ensuring targets are met.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to identify new business opportunities and support growth.
• Represent DHL before customs authorities, industry bodies and government entities.
• Handle permits, licenses, guarantees and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and resource planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Fiscal Sciences, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs, international trade or logistics, including people‑leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Venezuelan customs regulations and international trade processes.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and work under pressure.
