General Manager – Airport Operations (Caracas, Venezuela)

About the role

The role resides in the International Airport division supporting Venezuela Airport Operations. It coordinates activities across multiple stations to serve customers, use equipment, facilities and personnel efficiently while meeting performance and service targets. It drives strategic and operational decisions, optimizes processes and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate airport staff and contracted personnel across customer services, ticketing, operations, baggage handling, ramp, catering and security.
• Manage staff schedules, training, performance appraisals, audits and financial wellbeing to align with operational goals and compliance standards.
• Motivate employees and align them with the customer‑experience strategy and organizational objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and streamline processes while maintaining safety and customer focus.
• Partner with sales, commercial and cross‑functional teams to promote products, drive revenue and align performance with business objectives.
• Negotiate contracts and maintain partnerships with contractors, suppliers and airport authorities.
• Build and sustain relationships with Alliance/Oneworld partners, vendors and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
• Act as the in‑country representative, supporting day‑to‑day operations and key stakeholder relationships.
• Represent the airline at industry forums, governmental meetings, community events and media interactions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with governmental agencies, airport authorities, tourism boards and regulators to ensure reliability and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in operations or a related field.
• Ability to travel regionally.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing and speaking).
• Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration or related field.
• Preferred: Previous leadership experience in commercial airline operations with regional scope.
