Finance/Accounts Assistant (Temporary, G-4) – Caracas

About the role

The Finance/Accounts Assistant will support UNICEF Venezuela’s Finance and Budget team during a critical emergency response period. This six‑month temporary appointment involves handling budgetary and transactional tasks to ensure smooth financial operations across all programme sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Execute budget and financial transactions in line with UNICEF policies.
• Maintain accurate financial records for emergency and development activities.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and donor review.
• Support the Finance team in day‑to‑day activities, including verification of expenditures and compliance checks.
• Coordinate with programme staff to ensure timely processing of payments and reimbursements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in finance or accounting, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Thorough knowledge of UNICEF’s budgetary and financial procedures, processes and policies.
• Ability to work under pressure in a complex emergency environment.
