Electrical Engineer

About the role

Extraenergía is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and optimise electrical systems for industrial and commercial projects in the Federal District, Venezuela. The role focuses on ensuring safety, reliability and energy efficiency across all phases of project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, schematics and documentation for electrical installations.
• Conduct load calculations, fault studies and stability analyses.
• Support power distribution planning, including load balancing, protection coordination and infrastructure design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform site inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors, contribute to project scheduling and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and practical application.
• Familiarity with Venezuelan energy, utilities or industrial environments is an asset.
• Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for on‑site collaboration.

Required skills

• Electrical design for industrial and commercial installations, including schematics and layout preparation.
• Power distribution system design, load balancing, protection coordination and infrastructure planning.
• Power systems analysis such as fault studies, stability analysis and system optimisation.
• Proficiency with engineering design and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP or similar).
