Director of Nutrition Services

About the role

The Director of Nutrition Services leads the school district’s child nutrition program, ensuring compliance with Opaa! policies, client policies, and governmental regulations. Acting as the primary liaison between Opaa! and the district, the role oversees kitchen operations, staff management, and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen production, menu adherence, food safety (HACCP), and quality control across all district sites.
• Manage kitchen staff performance, hiring, training, scheduling, and compliance with labor laws.
• Maintain relationships with school principals, district officials, and board members, providing regular status reports.
• Handle procurement, inventory, POS reporting, and financial metrics to control food and labor costs.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience managing school nutrition programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and communicate effectively with district stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP food safety protocols and POS systems for meal tracking.
• Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control in a food service environment.
