Deputy Country Director for Programs – Caracas, Venezuela

About the role

The Deputy Country Director for Programs will support the Country Director in leading Première Urgence Internationale’s humanitarian programmes in Venezuela. Based in Caracas, the role focuses on ensuring effective delivery of assistance to vulnerable populations while maintaining alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation and monitoring of programme activities across the country.
• Manage programme budgets, ensure financial compliance and prepare regular reports for HQ and donors.
• Coordinate with national staff, partners, authorities and other UN agencies to optimise response efforts.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing coaching, performance management and capacity‑building.
• Contribute to strategic planning, risk assessment and contingency planning for the country office.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in humanitarian programme management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience working in complex emergency contexts, preferably in Latin America.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities, with a commitment to humanitarian principles.
