Communication Assistant – 6‑month TA in Caracas

About the role

The Communication Assistant will support UNICEF’s Communication Section in Caracas during the emergency response to the recent earthquakes. Working under the supervision of the Communication Specialist, the incumbent will help plan, monitor and control financial resources, procurement and contracts while contributing to advocacy and behavior‑change communication activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial, budgetary and administrative support to the Communication Section.
• Monitor expenditures, process procurement requests and manage contracts.
• Assist in the implementation and tracking of advocacy, communication and social‑behavior‑change (SBC) strategies.
• Coordinate logistical arrangements for communication events and field activities.
• Prepare regular reports on budget utilisation and activity progress.

Required profile

• Experience in financial and administrative support within a communication or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work under close supervision and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
