Backend Software Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our remote team and help build the core services of Factory, a platform that connects manufacturers with buyers worldwide. You will work closely with the founding team to shape architecture, implement new features, and ensure the platform scales across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Define and evolve system architecture across core services, applying hexagonal and clean‑architecture principles.
• Deploy and manage Docker‑based applications in development and production environments.
• Build, monitor, and optimize AWS infrastructure (ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS).
• Integrate payment providers and financial APIs.
• Develop AI‑powered capabilities and workflows.
• Implement real‑time communication, search, and ranking algorithms.
• Use Redis for caching, message queues, and pub/sub mechanisms.
• Maintain high standards for testing, CI/CD, documentation, and security.
• Own projects from technical definition through deployment and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience with NestJS and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design backend systems and make architecture decisions.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and containerised development.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as ECS, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience integrating payment gateways or financial APIs.
• Experience integrating AI models or AI services.
• Deep understanding of hexagonal and clean architecture.
