Associate Communications Officer – UN Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The Associate Communications Officer will support the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Caracas by contributing to the development and implementation of communications strategies that raise awareness of UN work and advance the 2030 Agenda. Working under the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office, the role combines media monitoring, content creation, and data‑driven analysis to engage diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Gather insights from traditional, social and digital media monitoring to inform communications strategy and identify reputational risks.
• Draft narratives, press releases, web stories, reports and infographics that communicate UN initiatives across multiple platforms.
• Develop and maintain relationships with traditional and new media outlets, including mapping and outreach.
• Plan and coordinate press conferences, briefings and media events, including crisis communication lines.
• Create and optimise content for radio, podcasts and digital channels to reach target audiences.
• Analyse communications performance, produce data visualisations and provide insights for strategic decision‑making.
