Area Manager – Sucre

About the role

The Area Manager ensures the effective, timely, and accountable implementation of Save the Children interventions within the designated Sucre area. The role coordinates teams, work‑plans, budgets and resources to deliver high‑quality programmes and measurable results for children and communities while complying with organisational policies, donor requirements and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise programme teams, work‑plans and budgets.
• Manage a portfolio of projects valued up to USD 2‑5 million.
• Ensure compliance with donor reporting (ECHO, AECID, NORAD, GAC, UN agencies) and internal control frameworks.
• Oversee security management, child safeguarding, accountability and risk management.
• Handle logistics and supply procedures for programme delivery.
• Collaborate with partners using a participatory approach.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Development Studies or related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5‑7 years progressive management experience (including 2 years in a similar role).
• Proven experience in grant management, budget holding and donor reporting.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and strong computer literacy.
• Experience managing logistics, supply chains and large programme portfolios.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
