WASH Coordinator – Venezuela

About the role

The WASH Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of water, sanitation and hygiene activities across Venezuela. Reporting to the Country Director/Programme Manager, the role provides both technical and managerial leadership to ensure effective delivery of community and health‑facility interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, monitoring and evaluation of all WASH programme activities.
• Develop annual, quarterly and monthly work plans aligned with programme targets.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements, technical standards and national regulations.
• Coordinate with government authorities, humanitarian actors, implementing partners and community representatives.
• Provide technical support and capacity‑building to WASH staff, contractors and partners.
• Conduct assessments, technical surveys and oversee the rehabilitation or construction of water supply and sanitation systems, including in health facilities.

Required profile

• Legal right to live and work in Venezuela.
• Educational background in water engineering, environmental engineering, WASH or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience managing WASH programmes, preferably with NGOs, UN agencies or humanitarian organisations.
• Demonstrated experience in community WASH activities, safe water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion and distribution of WASH kits.
• Proven experience in rehabilitation or construction of WASH infrastructure in health facilities.
• Fluent in Spanish; English knowledge is an advantage.
