Tax Senior Analyst – Venezuela

About the role

Airswift is seeking a senior tax professional to join a permanent team in Venezuela, supporting a technology and energy company. The role focuses on reviewing, validating and overseeing tax matters to ensure compliance with Venezuelan tax legislation, contractual agreements and internal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate tax calculations, returns, ancillary obligations, payments and supporting schedules for Venezuelan operations.
• Conduct independent technical reviews of tax bases, rates, assumptions and documentation, escalating inconsistencies or unsubstantiated positions.
• Ensure compliance with national and municipal Venezuelan tax requirements.
• Coordinate current and deferred tax calculations with Accounting and Controllership during monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Analyze tax implications and exposures arising from oil & gas activities, joint‑venture arrangements and commercial transactions.
• Support tax planning, intercompany and related‑party transactions, including transfer‑pricing analysis and documentation.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and assess their financial impact.
• Provide tax analysis for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit support.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Venezuelan tax law and oil & gas sector tax issues.
• Proven experience handling tax matters for joint‑venture or partner‑operated activities in Venezuela.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify and address tax risks and contingencies.
• Ability to work independently and act as a key tax control point.
