Supply & Logistics Officer – 6-month contract

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Logistics Officer to support the emergency response following the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. The officer will work on a six‑month fixed‑term assignment based in Caracas, coordinating the procurement, transport and distribution of essential goods for children and families affected by the disaster.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes for emergency supplies, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies and local regulations.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods to affected regions, including schools, health facilities and shelters.
• Monitor inventory levels, track shipments and resolve logistical bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with government authorities, NGOs and UN partners to align logistics activities with the overall humanitarian response.
• Prepare regular reports on supply chain performance, costs and challenges.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or emergency contexts, preferably in Latin America.
• Strong understanding of procurement and logistics procedures in UN or NGO settings.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with ability to work under pressure.
