Senior Finance Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to support resource‑management functions at its Caracas Mission. Working under the Resources Management Officer and the Finance and Administration Officer, the incumbent will collaborate with mission units to ensure sound financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the mission’s financial and administrative procedures.
• Prepare and review financial documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IOM policies.
• Coordinate with relevant units to facilitate timely processing of budgets, expenditures, and reports.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and contribute to internal audits.
• Maintain organized records and provide data for resource‑management reporting.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field with at least four years of professional experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is an advantage.
• Familiarity with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) is an advantage.
• Previous experience with international humanitarian or non‑governmental organisations is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with SAP is a distinct advantage.
