Senior Education Project Officer (National Position)

About the role

Following the June earthquakes in Venezuela, IsraAID is expanding its national emergency response team in Caracas. The Senior Education Project Officer will lead the design, coordination and delivery of education interventions that support children, adolescents and vulnerable families to return to safe learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for education programming, ensuring alignment with humanitarian standards and IsraAID’s global frameworks.
• Design, plan and oversee education interventions, translating needs assessments into high‑quality activities.
• Develop curricula that integrate Education in Emergencies, MHPSS, WASH and health components.
• Train and support staff delivering Temporary Spaces for Learning and Well‑being, including weekly schedules and activity plans.
• Manage work plans, timelines and resources to ensure timely implementation.
• Contribute to proposal writing, budgeting and donor reporting for education activities.
• Ensure donor compliance, risk management and financial accountability.
• Line‑manage Education Officers, community mobilisers and related staff, providing supervision and professional development.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in education programming within humanitarian or emergency contexts.
• Strong background in program design, implementation and monitoring.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate with local authorities and partners, and manage donor requirements.
• Excellent understanding of rights‑based, survivor‑centered approaches and cultural appropriateness.
