Protection Coordinator – Venezuela (National Position)

About the role

IsraAID is seeking a Protection Coordinator to lead the design, implementation and monitoring of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Child Protection programmes in the recovery phase following recent earthquakes in Venezuela. The role combines strategic programme management with hands‑on implementation and capacity‑building for local partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for protection, MHPSS and child protection activities, ensuring alignment with humanitarian standards and IsraAID frameworks.
• Design, plan and oversee interventions based on needs assessments, translating findings into rights‑based, survivor‑centred programmes.
• Manage work plans, timelines and resources to deliver high‑quality activities on schedule.
• Contribute to proposal development, budgeting and donor reporting, ensuring compliance and financial accountability.
• Line‑manage protection officers, community mobilisers and related staff, providing supervision, performance management and professional development.
• Promote staff wellbeing and ethical practice in high‑stress environments.
• Provide senior technical guidance on Psychological First Aid, community‑based psychosocial support and child safeguarding.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading protection, MHPSS and child protection programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in proposal writing, budgeting and donor reporting.
• Strong understanding of rights‑based, survivor‑centred approaches and cultural appropriateness.
