Project Associate – WASH (Maracaibo)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support its Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The position is a special short‑term assignment (grade G‑5) running until 31 December 2026, reporting to the project supervisor and working closely with internal units and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of WASH project activities.
• Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse and present data and information on specific project topics.
• Monitor the project budget, verify fund availability, obtain approvals and update budget records.
• Serve as the focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with diverse organisational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain clearances and follow‑up on actions.
• Draft status reports, identify shortfalls, escalate issues to the supervisor and propose remedial actions.
• Prepare correspondence and other project‑related documents.

Required profile

• Eligible for General Service recruitment (grade G‑5).
• Willingness and ability to work in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Experience in project administration and budget monitoring is desirable.
