Operator – Sterilization Process

About the role

Join Sotera Health, a global leader in sterilization and lab testing services, as an Operator on a high‑throughput processing line. You will monitor critical process parameters, ensure safe equipment operation, and help move products through the facility on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and record pressure, temperature, and relative humidity on charts or computer monitors.
• Turn valves and adjust controls to maintain safe equipment operation.
• Detect malfunctions in sterilizers and auxiliary units, reporting issues to supervisors and assisting with repairs.
• Document process readings and report damaged product or system problems promptly.
• Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks and support the maintenance team as needed.
• Store and remove processing chemicals in compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Participate in plant safety committees and follow all safety rules.
• Assist with additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in a sterilization environment (preferred).
• Fluent English (read, write, speak).
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and perform repetitive bending and lifting.
• Willingness to work established shifts.
• Medical clearance for respirator use and tolerance for high temperature/humidity exposure.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
• Experience with EO (ethylene oxide) sterilization processes.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and monitoring.
• Preventive maintenance of sterilization equipment.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
