Master Electrician Supervisor

About the role

The Master Electrician Supervisor will be stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, providing essential electrical support for the Basic Life Support Services contract under the U.S. Department of State. The role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all electrical systems across the embassy facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all activities.
• Comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements, providing necessary documentation.
• Supervise electricians, medium‑voltage electricians, and support staff in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, lighting, emergency power, and control systems.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs to maximize system uptime, safety, and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical malfunctions, power‑quality issues, and equipment failures.
• Monitor electrical distribution, load management, and power quality.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and manufacturer specifications.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience in electrical systems operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role managing electrical operations for large commercial, industrial, institutional, or government facilities.
• Experience with medium‑voltage systems (above 600 V) and complex distribution networks.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, distribution panels, and protective relaying.
• Thorough understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and related electrical codes.
• Proficiency reading single‑line, three‑line diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical testing tools including megohmmeters, power‑quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, and protective‑relay test sets.
