Human Resources Officer – Professional Level

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a Human Resources Officer (Professional level) to coordinate HR functions for its Country Office and sub‑offices. Working under the Chief of Mission or Head of Office and directly with the Resources Management Officer, the role supports the delivery of HR services in line with IOM policies and project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HR team in reviewing and monitoring HR management services across the Country Office.
• Ensure compliance with IOM HR rules, regulations, policies, procedures and practices.
• Supervise the maintenance of personnel files and attendance records for international and national staff.
• Coordinate HR activities with the Regional Office, Department of Human Resources and Administrative Centres.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, staff development and performance management processes.
• Provide guidance on HR matters to line managers and staff.

Required profile

• Applicants from diverse backgrounds, with emphasis on qualified female candidates and those from under‑represented IOM Member States.
• Relevant academic qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in HR coordination within an international or UN‑type organization.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, personnel administration and staff record‑keeping.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and adapt to a multicultural environment.
