Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience through immaculate cabin and public area cleanliness on board. This senior hospitality professional leads the housekeeping team, ensures compliance with safety and brand standards, and drives continuous improvement in service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all housekeeping operations, guaranteeing premium cleanliness and visual standards throughout the vessel.
• Develop, coach and evaluate supervisors and crew members, maintaining a strong floor presence.
• Implement and monitor safety, chemical handling, and environmental procedures in line with company policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
• Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and budgeting for housekeeping supplies.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold Royal Caribbean International’s brand and SQM standards.
• Foster a positive work environment through open communication and performance feedback.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping management experience, preferably in upscale hotels, resorts or cruise ships.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical safety, personal protective equipment and job safety analysis.
• Understanding of talent assessment, quality service standards and guest satisfaction metrics.
• Familiarity with human‑resources policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using industry software such as SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia and Kronos.
