Design Coordinator – Airport EPC Construction

About the role

The Design Coordinator will support the coordination and management of design activities for airport EPC construction projects in Venezuela, ensuring that design information is reviewed, coordinated, and delivered in line with project requirements, specifications, quality standards, and construction needs.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across architectural, structural, MEP, ELV, ICT, and specialist airport systems disciplines.
• Review design drawings, technical submissions, specifications, and documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in managing design deliverables, submissions, reviews, and approval processes.
• Work with consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and design conflicts.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and maintain action trackers.
• Monitor design progress and ensure timely submission of required documents.
• Support BIM coordination activities, including model reviews, clash detection, and design integration.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate responses to RFIs and technical queries related to design matters.
• Ensure approved design information is communicated effectively to construction teams.
• Maintain design registers, drawing logs, and document control records.
• Support the Design Manager in monitoring design changes and assessing their impact on project requirements.
• Assist with authority submissions, inspections, and project hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of design coordination processes and construction documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with international standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in design coordination or engineering coordination roles.
• Experience on large‑scale building, infrastructure, transportation, or airport projects is preferred.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Understanding of design development, technical submissions, and approval workflows.
