Country Director – Venezuela

About the role

Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is seeking a senior leader to head its mission in Venezuela. Based in Caracas, the Country Director will ensure the safety, effectiveness and strategic growth of the programme while representing PUI with partners, donors and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee safety and security of staff and assets in the field.
• Coordinate and monitor all programme activities, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and PUI standards.
• Lead human‑resource functions, including recruitment, performance management and staff development.
• Supervise logistical, administrative and financial operations, guaranteeing adherence to internal procedures and donor regulations.
• Ensure medical and technical interventions follow PUI operational frameworks.
• Represent PUI in meetings with partners, media, donors and government bodies.
• Facilitate effective communication between headquarters and the field, meeting reporting deadlines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in humanitarian action, project management, or a technical field related to PUI’s sectors.
• Extensive experience managing large, multi‑disciplinary teams in a humanitarian or development context.
• Proven ability to secure funding and manage donor relationships, particularly with ECHO and other international agencies.
• Strong understanding of crisis response, fundraising and regional strategy development.
