Civil / Structural Inspector

About the role

SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, is looking for experienced Civil / Structural Inspectors to support a range of projects in Venezuela. The role involves ensuring that civil and structural works meet the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect foundations, buildings, industrial structures and infrastructure works.
• Monitor construction activities against project specifications, drawings, codes and client requirements.
• Verify material quality, construction methods and workmanship for reinforced concrete, structural steel, grouting and other civil works.
• Witness and review site testing such as concrete and soil testing.
• Review construction drawings, inspection reports, quality documents and material certificates.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients and project teams to ensure quality compliance.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project quality records.
• Ensure adherence to SGS quality, safety and HSE standards.

Required profile

• 5‑15 years of experience in civil or structural inspection.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant civil inspection certifications are preferred.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power Generation, EPC, industrial plants or infrastructure projects.
