Bilingual Referral & Insurance Coordinator (Virtual Assistant)

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized, detail‑oriented Bilingual Referral & Insurance Coordinator to work remotely as a virtual assistant for a busy healthcare practice. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish, has hands‑on experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW), and can manage referrals and insurance authorizations from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Process and coordinate patient referrals from initiation through completion.
• Submit, track, and follow up on insurance authorizations.
• Coordinate appointments and communication with specialists and outside providers.
• Maintain accurate referral tracking and update patient information in eClinicalWorks.
• Contact patients regarding referrals, appointments, authorizations, and required documentation.
• Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA.

Required profile

• Organized, proactive, persistent, and highly communicative.
• Comfortable taking ownership of referrals and following up without constant supervision.
• Clear spoken English with minimal accent and fluent written and spoken Spanish.
• Experience in medical referral coordination, insurance authorizations, or healthcare administration.
