Bilingual Front Desk & Intake Virtual Medical Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Front Desk & Intake Virtual Medical Assistant to join a nonprofit behavioral health organization. Working remotely, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, guiding them through intake, eligibility, and scheduling while providing compassionate support.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming calls, voicemails, emails, and online forms in English and Spanish with professionalism and empathy.
• Conduct initial telephone screenings, gather patient information, and determine insurance or financial assistance eligibility.
• Explain the intake process, assist with patient portal navigation, and ensure completion of required documentation before appointments.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments following clinic-specific procedures, coordinating with therapists, psychologists, and interns.
• Prioritize daily voicemail and inquiry follow‑up, maintaining clear communication with patients and the back‑office team.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a front‑desk or intake role within a medical or behavioral health setting.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive, emotional conversations while staying focused on required steps.
• Comfortable working 11:00 AM–7:00 PM US Central Time in a fully remote environment.
