Backend Engineer – Legacy to Microservices (Remote)

About the role

As a Backend Engineer you will focus on modernizing legacy monolithic applications into scalable microservices architectures. You will transform older software stacks into high‑performance systems that support continuous delivery and evolving business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the transition from monolithic architectures to modular microservices using .NET or Java.
• Lead the decomposition of legacy codebases while ensuring system stability and data integrity.
• Develop and optimise robust RESTful APIs for seamless inter‑service communication.
• Apply advanced refactoring techniques to improve code quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Integrate modern CI/CD practices into the development lifecycle to accelerate deployment cycles.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define architectural standards and best practices for system migration.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in backend or software engineering.
• Proven expertise in modernising legacy monolithic applications into microservices.
• Strong proficiency in either .NET/C# or Java ecosystems.
• Solid experience with API design, RESTful migrations, and monolith decomposition strategies.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD adoption and automated pipeline integration.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
