Senior Auto Dealership Bookkeeper (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a senior bookkeeper with deep experience in automotive and motorcycle dealership accounting. This fully remote, long‑term position focuses exclusively on managing the financial books of dealership clients using QuickBooks Online.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain dealership books in QuickBooks Online, recording vehicle sales, buyer’s orders, trade‑ins, fees, taxes and aftermarket products.
• Manage accounts receivable, process down payments, cash receipts and credit‑card payments, and apply them accurately.
• Match dealer logs to QBO postings, bank deposits and merchant accounts.
• Process lender funding, tie it to deals and bank deposits, and record inventory purchases, auction buys and floorplan activity.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and merchant accounts monthly; classify inventory, COGS, fees and expenses.
• Assist with month‑end close, financial reporting and resolve discrepancies proactively.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• At least 2 years dedicated to car or motorcycle dealership accounting.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Strong understanding of buyer’s orders, AR management and inventory accounting.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
