Senior Android Developer – Kotlin Multiplatform & AI Coding

About the role

We are building a mobile app that blends real‑world interactions with location and proximity technologies, using AI coding tools and autonomous agents to accelerate development. As a senior Android developer you will own mobile development, deliver reliable software, and help the team become more effective with AI‑assisted workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve the Android application using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Design shared application logic and integrate platform‑specific features such as GPS, BLE, UWB, and NFC.
• Address mobile challenges including permissions, background execution, battery consumption, and device variability.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and coding agents for feature implementation, defect investigation, refactoring, and testing.
• Set up and refine agentic development workflows, including task decomposition, automated checks, and review processes.
• Review and validate AI‑generated code for correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Test functionality on real devices and resolve issues beyond automated tests.
• Mentor a junior developer through pair programming, demonstrations, and clear explanations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience delivering production Android apps with Kotlin.
• Strong practical experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, shared code, and platform‑specific integration.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, Flow, lifecycle, and state management.
• Excellent debugging skills across code, APIs, and device behavior.
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding tools to deliver working software.
• Interest in agentic coding and ability to create effective workflows around coding agents.
• Ability to critically assess AI‑generated solutions and explain implementations.
• Willingness to teach less experienced team members patiently and clearly.
