Python Backend Developer (FastAPI & MongoDB) – Remote

About the role

As a Python Backend Developer you will design, build, and maintain a clinical health‑data pipeline backend. The position focuses on high‑performance async services using Python 3.12, FastAPI, and MongoDB, ensuring data correctness, security, and interoperability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain async backend services with Python 3.12 and FastAPI.
• Manage data persistence using MongoDB, preferably with the Beanie ODM.
• Implement OAuth/OIDC and JWT authentication across Keycloak and Descope in a provider‑agnostic manner.
• Work with Docker and docker‑compose, troubleshooting build and runtime issues in containerised environments.
• Contribute to the clinical health‑data pipeline and MCP server implementation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python 3.12 and async FastAPI development.
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB, ideally using Beanie ODM.
• Solid understanding of OAuth/OIDC and JWT‑based authentication.
• Comfortable working with Docker and docker‑compose.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
