Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will lead the sourcing and acquisition of materials, equipment and services for industrial projects, ensuring cost‑effectiveness, quality and timely delivery. You will work closely with engineering, quality and project teams to support the successful execution of water‑treatment plant and other mechanical equipment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop strategic and potential suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms and supply agreements.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers.
• Coordinate and keep the supplier database up to date.
• Manage purchase orders and monitor delivery deadlines.
• Control costs of purchased materials and services.
• Track KPIs to measure procurement efficiency.
• Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve supply issues.
• Oversee supplier evaluation, qualification and performance processes.
• Conduct cost analysis and implement cost‑optimization strategies.
• Prepare periodic reports on procurement status and supplier performance.
• Use ERP and inventory management tools for procurement tracking.
• Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree or specialization in Supply Chain is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the industrial sector.
• Experience with water‑treatment plant projects and mechanical equipment procurement.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
