Leader Project Engineer

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Leader Project Engineer in Caracas, reporting to the Regional Business Manager Lifecycle Services, Andean Region. The role owns the technical success of the project: technical scope, delivery time, quality (IPD) and technical risk review. It involves architecting a solution for the customer, leading a technical team to deliver the project and resolving technical issues, working alongside the Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Engineering leadership: define and validate control system architectures, establish programming standards and typologies, design SAT and FAT, estimate labor hours and required materials for proposals, and scale solutions to address technical issues.
• Project execution: coordinate technical tasks, oversee equipment procurement, support project start-up, conduct site visits to gather control system information, and manage the project engineering team and third-party contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, System Engineering or a related technology field.
• Good spoken and written English; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus depending on the native country.
• Typically 5 years of related experience; prior industrial automation experience and Oil & Gas experience are desirable but not limiting.
• Travel up to 70% of the time, including domestic and international trips.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of automation, control and networks.
• Programming experience with Rockwell Automation products.
• Understanding of change management principles and ability to facilitate large end-to-end value streams.
• Ability to organize, lead and facilitate cross-functional projects and work with multicultural teams.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and similar.
