Finance & Accounts Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Finance & Accounts Assistant on a temporary basis to support its emergency response in Venezuela. The role will be based in Caracas and will work closely with the Finance and Budget team to ensure smooth day‑to‑day financial operations across all programme sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions in accordance with UNICEF’s budget and financial policies.
• Prepare and review vouchers, invoices, and payment requests.
• Assist in budget monitoring, reporting and reconciliation for assigned sections.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
• Coordinate with programme staff and external partners to resolve financial queries.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
• Experience in financial administration, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good command of English; knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.
