Cloud Architect – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, manage, and optimise our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions that support modern application delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement best practices for cloud architecture, security, governance, scalability and reliability.
• Write and maintain Terraform configurations to manage GCP resources as code.
• Design and keep up‑to‑date infrastructure, network, topology and service diagrams across Development, QA and Production environments.
• Support and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with technical teams to guide cloud implementation strategies and drive operational excellence.
• Own assigned cloud environments, ensuring stability, performance and security.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on cloud infrastructure matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, specifically with GCP.
• Strong knowledge of GCP services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE and GCR.
• Proven experience deploying and managing cloud‑based applications.
• Deep understanding of DevOps culture and operational best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration.
• Experience supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, Cloud Build, SonarQube and CircleCI.
• Linux administration and networking troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and perimeter security best practices.
• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect and/or Associate Cloud Engineer (nice to have).
• Advanced English proficiency.
