Chief Executive Officer – Mining (Venezuela)

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer – Mining (Venezuela) leads the Group’s mining business, driving strategy, financial performance and full P&L responsibility across the asset lifecycle from exploration to export. Reporting to the Board, the CEO ensures safe, compliant and value‑creating operations in a state‑partnered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and set strategic direction aligned with Board objectives and capital allocation.
• Represent the Group at Board level and ensure governance of all mining assets and entities.
• Lead relationships with state‑owned mining entities, government bodies and joint‑venture partners, chairing JV boards and committees.
• Oversee exploration, development, extraction, processing, logistics and export to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost efficiency and asset utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with Venezuelan mining laws, concession licences, royalty, tax, foreign‑exchange, labour, HSE and environmental regulations.
• Hold full accountability for P&L, budgeting, forecasting, working capital and financial reporting.
• Lead capital planning, investment decisions and disciplined capital allocation.
• Champion a zero‑harm safety culture, responsible environmental management and community engagement aligned with ESG standards.
• Build, lead and retain a high‑performing executive and operational leadership team.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in mining or related heavy‑industry sectors.
• Demonstrated full P&L responsibility and capital‑allocation expertise.
• Extensive experience managing state partnerships, joint‑venture governance and regulatory compliance in Venezuela.
• Strong track record in driving operational excellence, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Commitment to HSE, ESG and community engagement.
