Buyer - Procurement Specialist

About the role

Chevron is hiring a Buyer in Barcelona, accepting online applications until October 27, 2026. The Buyer manages the procurement process, from vendor selection and purchasing to order tracking and expediting, so that equipment and materials arrive on time at the best total cost of ownership. The role supports medium-sized clients and contributes to more complex projects under periodic supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual procurement plans aligned with operational and business priorities.
• Select the appropriate Terms and Conditions templates according to scope, commercial model and risk.
• Prepare and coordinate bid packages and Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
• Identify, assess and recommend suppliers based on capability, quality, cost, delivery schedule and compliance.
• Procure standard materials and issue purchase orders under negotiated and approved terms.
• Coordinate purchase order award, quality assurance, expediting, change management, status reporting, transportation, logistics and supplier performance monitoring.
• Manage international suppliers and cross-border procurement, including logistics interfaces and delivery to the required destination.
• Analyze spend, demand, pricing, supplier and purchasing data to find sourcing opportunities and recommend when to use material acquisition master agreements.

Required profile

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, materials management or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience applying or administering master agreements for material acquisition.
• Ability to manage suppliers outside the country and coordinate across time zones and cultures.
• Knowledge of RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, expediting and post-award administration.
• Professional proficiency in English is mandatory; Spanish is also required for the local business environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement and ERP tools such as GEP SMART, SAP or JDE.
• Strong analytical skills and stakeholder management.
• Preferred: project, facilities, construction, engineering or O&G procurement experience; data visualization tools; knowledge of AI tools for supply chain.
