Assistant Store Manager

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations and merchandising, ensuring excellent customer service while coaching and developing associates. This role is accountable for key performance measures, driving sales and profitability across the store.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational processes including receiving, stockroom management, and omni‑channel fulfillment.
• Maintain appropriate product levels on the sales floor through replenishment and remerchandising based on sell‑through and seasonal trends.
• Lead point‑of‑sale and customer service teams to deliver fast, compelling transactions.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are met, adapting displays to store layout and customer needs.
• Execute pricing activities, ensuring accurate price changes, signage, and ticketing.
• Support loss‑prevention initiatives by educating staff and monitoring daily activity.
• Manage training for new hires, covering inventory procedures, productivity, merchandising standards, product knowledge, and Kohl’s tools.
• Model integrity, teamwork, and inclusive culture while providing direction and coaching to associates.
