Assistant Bookkeeper with QuickBooks

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Bookkeeper to join our boutique tax advisory firm on a full‑time remote basis. You will support daily bookkeeping and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial data for our U.S. and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
• Reconcile bank and credit‑card accounts on a regular basis.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and prepare basic financial reports.
• Organize and maintain digital financial records.
• Coordinate with tax advisors to provide accurate data for tax preparation.
• Communicate with clients to obtain documentation and resolve record discrepancies.
• Follow firm and regulatory procedures to maintain compliance.

Required profile

• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) for transaction entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Fundamental bookkeeping knowledge, including debits/credits, general ledger, and AP/AR processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Comfort with remote work tools such as secure document‑sharing platforms and video conferencing.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
• Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience, preferably in a tax or accounting firm.
• Education in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus but not mandatory if experience is demonstrated.
