Transition and Recovery Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Transition and Recovery Officer to lead early recovery and community stabilization initiatives in Venezuela. The role focuses on supporting internally displaced persons and responding to the recent earthquakes, aiming to create durable solutions and a conducive environment for return and reintegration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and implement IOM programmes on early recovery and community stabilization.
• Coordinate actions that facilitate durable solutions for internally displaced populations.
• Lead the response to recent seismic events, ensuring effective humanitarian assistance and recovery planning.
• Collaborate with governmental, inter‑governmental and non‑governmental partners to promote sustainable recovery.
• Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes, preparing reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business/Public Administration, International Studies or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in humanitarian recovery, displacement, or post‑disaster contexts.
