Senior Accountant – US & Canadian Clients

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage and support the financial operations of multiple North American clients. The position is fully remote and operates on a long‑term contractor basis, providing expertise across accounting, reporting, and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for several client accounts, including general ledger management.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank statements.
• Assist with payroll processing and preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Review financial information and KPIs to identify trends, discrepancies, or potential issues.
• Oversee and review the work of bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, gradually taking on more client‑facing duties.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and support audits and tax preparations.
• Work with AI‑enabled and automated accounting workflows, reviewing outputs and adapting to new technologies.
• Perform ad‑hoc accounting tasks as required.

Required profile

• Degree or formal post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on accounting experience covering the full accounting cycle.
• Experience working with U.S. and/or Canadian companies or clients.
• Ability to manage multiple business accounts simultaneously in a startup or small‑business environment.
