Remote Transaction Monitoring Analyst (LATAM/APAC)

About the role

As a Transaction Monitoring Investigator you will safeguard the integrity of the Bitfinex platform by identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial‑crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. You will work within the Compliance team, analysing alerts, assessing unusual activity and investigating potential money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing, sanctions and fraud risks using a risk‑based approach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transaction‑monitoring algorithms to detect AML, terrorism‑financing, sanctions and other compliance risks.
• Analyze and investigate alerts generated from fiat (wire and non‑wire) and crypto (on‑chain and off‑chain) trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating urgent cases.
• Assist the Manager of Transaction Monitoring in building periodic reports that highlight ML, TF and sanctions anomalies for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with AML investigators, product teams and compliance leadership to ensure timely escalation of high‑risk cases.
• Continuously enhance personal knowledge of virtual currencies, documentation requirements and account‑behavior analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance within the financial or crypto industry.
• Solid understanding of AML/KYC/CTF policies, laws, enhanced due diligence and sanctions.
• Basic knowledge of blockchain technology (enhanced on the job).
• Relevant certification such as CAMS or CBP.
• University degree and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
