Program Director – Disaster Response

About the role

The Program Director leads a dynamic nonprofit program that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. This full‑time position oversees all aspects of program delivery, ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant operations in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the overall operation and successful completion of the program.
• Onboard, supervise, and empower a diverse staff team (2‑4 direct reports) to meet community needs.
• Ensure budget and timeline compliance, develop and reconcile program budgets.
• Support operations and project teams to meet targets within approved constraints.
• Enforce All Hands & Hearts policies, conduct disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Develop, implement, and review emergency procedures, safety, and security protocols.
• Oversee weekly and monthly reporting and maintain program tracking systems.
• Coordinate with local partners, UN Cluster systems, government authorities, and NGOs.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and international humanitarian standards (Sphere, HAP).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 2+ years experience in disaster response, preferably with All Hands & Hearts.
• 1+ year experience in project management with budget tracking and reporting.
• 2+ years experience managing a team.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
