Procurement Manager (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement and supply‑chain function for a leading international oil & gas company operating in Venezuela. The role will be based in Caracas and will support drilling, production, maintenance and capital projects by ensuring the timely acquisition of critical goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with operational and business objectives.
• Manage the full procurement cycle – from sourcing, tendering and evaluation to negotiation, contract award and supplier performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers and service providers.
• Drive cost optimisation while safeguarding quality, compliance and delivery reliability.
• Support drilling, production, logistics and capital‑project activities through proactive procurement planning.
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions with vendors.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, supplier capabilities and supply‑risk factors.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls and local regulations.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Logistics, Engineering and Management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience in procurement, supply‑chain or contracts management within the oil & gas industry.
• Proven track record of managing suppliers, tenders, contract negotiations and procurement planning.
• Knowledge of drilling, production, maintenance or upstream procurement processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Experience working in multicultural and dynamic environments.
• Fluency in Spanish; professional English is highly desirable.
