Finance Manager

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations at its Venezuela base. The role combines hands‑on accounting, audit oversight, and capacity‑building for national staff while supporting the organization’s humanitarian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Train and mentor national staff on financial management and grant‑funded programs.
• Oversee internal and external audits to ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
• Maintain daily cash, check, and bank transaction records, including cash advances and field expense reports.
• Perform cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and safeguard financial resources.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Country Director and headquarters.
• Assist with project budget preparation, review, and approval of financial transactions such as vouchers, cash advances, and transfers.
• Provide financial policy guidance and training to program managers, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year institution; degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant international work experience, preferably in financial management.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience with foreign currencies, grant management, and audit processes.
• Management experience is an advantage.
• Strong personal commitment to the organization’s faith‑based values; twelve credit hours of Biblical studies strongly preferred.
