Country Representative – Humanitarian Leadership

About the role

The Country Representative will lead Samaritan's Purse operations in Venezuela, guiding humanitarian programs and fostering a spiritually healthy field team. This senior position reports to regional leadership and works closely with local churches, NGOs, and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a country office strategy aligned with the global mission.
• Build, mentor, and manage a national team in partnership with the DART team.
• Represent the organization to government officials, donors, NGOs, and beneficiaries.
• Monitor program progress, financial accountability, and grant reporting to ensure compliance.
• Oversee office operations, logistics, and security coordination.
• Track potential disasters and advise the regional team on response plans.
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff, fostering professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
• Five to seven years of leadership and international field experience, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Master’s degree in International Development or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated personal commitment to Christian faith and ability to serve as a witness.
