Building Automation Systems Supervisor

About the role

The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Supervisor will lead the BAS team at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, ensuring reliable operation of all mechanical and electrical building systems. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily activities, maintain high‑quality service delivery, and support the DiPSS Venezuela BLS contract for the U.S. Department of State.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the BAS that controls AHU parameters, VAV boxes, equipment scheduling, and lighting.
• Inspect panels at least every four hours and provide 24/7 on‑call emergency support.
• Maintain and repair BAS modules, panels, and components; perform quarterly calibrations.
• Keep secure, professional BAS documentation and generate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Schedule personnel shifts and rotations, assign tasks, and enforce performance standards.
• Inspect and audit work to ensure compliance with the statement of work and quality standards.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks under austere conditions.
• Manage staff performance reviews and other first‑line supervisory duties.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience as a BAS Technician or Journeyman HVAC Mechanic with controls experience.
• Associate degree or higher in an engineering discipline (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer‑service mindset, cross‑cultural sensitivity, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Valid passport and any required licenses or certifications for the visa process.
