BAS Technician

About the role

The Building Automation System (BAS) Technician will work on Amentum sites within the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, supporting the DiPSS Venezuela BLS contract for the U.S. Department of State. The role focuses on operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the BAS and Power Monitoring System (PMS) to ensure reliable building performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all environmental, safety, and quality assurance requirements.
• Operate and maintain the BAS and PMS in line with manufacturer recommendations and facility parameters.
• Act as the contractor’s representative, ensuring all task‑order requirements for BAS and PMS are met.
• Allocate and manage staff resources, monitor qualifications, and coordinate information flow with O&M staff and U.S. Government representatives.
• Identify problem areas, resolve BAS/PMS issues, and support mission‑critical requirements.
• Plan, manage, and execute projects related to building automation and power monitoring.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in operation and maintenance of building automation systems.
• At least two (2) years of direct maintenance experience with Siemens or Honeywell BAS systems.
• Three (3) years of experience in a large, modern commercial or U.S. Government facility, domestic or overseas.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment.
• Cross‑cultural sensitivity and strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
