Senior Systems Engineer – High‑Performance Data Processing (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, optimise and maintain high‑performance data processing systems. You will work remotely with a global team, focusing on safe concurrency, Python/C++ interoperability and efficient handling of massive datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise large‑scale data pipelines using Python and modern C++ (C++17+).
• Integrate columnar formats such as Apache Arrow and Parquet, ensuring zero‑copy and type‑consistent I/O.
• Build, profile and debug critical components with tools like gdb, valgrind, perf and sanitizers.
• Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps and platform teams to guarantee scalability, stability and observability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for mixed Python/C++ environments and integrate observability solutions (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with concurrent systems and large‑scale data processing.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (multiprocessing, threading, shared_memory).
• Strong expertise in modern C++ (C++17+) and Python‑C++ interoperability (ctypes, pybind11).
• 3+ years of cloud experience on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Proficient English communication skills.
